Chamber Music Program
The Houston Youth Chamber Orchestra is excited to expand our chamber ensemble program to serve the needs of our Philharmonic Orchestra students! Chamber music allows for students to enjoy a small gathering ensemble to develop their full potential as ensemble performers and is a fun social opportunity as well!
All students will have the opportunity to perform on the formal concerts offered by HYCO. Chamber Music Director, Yvonne Smith, will be leading students through the standard repertoire of chamber music string trios, quartets, and quintets to string students who are members of The Philharmonic Orchestra.
The HYCO chamber program consists of 8 rehearsals with Ms. Smith and a formal concert performance for all students involved.
Program Details
Cost per semester: $600
Rehearsal Location: 1011 Heights Blvd.
Rehearsal days and times will vary depending on ensemble coach and student schedules. Generally, students will rehearse on Monday or Wednesday evenings from 6-7pm or 7-8pm. Before or after Sunday evening full orchestra rehearsals might be possible as well.
Pay Tuition
Please pay tuition after acceptance into the Philharmonic Orchestra and chamber music assignment and rehearsal dates have been established.
